Flexport is looking for a staff software engineer to help drive the agenda for the Cloud Services team that supports our freight forwarding platform. This team is responsible for a critical set of enabling services and technologies including DNS, IP address management, cloud governance for AWS, GCP, and Azure, environment build-outs, some account management, and collaborating with security operations on a variety of defensive measures.
You Will:
Create sustainable, automated systems and services allowing the business to scale and accelerate
Develop and execute a vision that drives high service levels and accountability for these services
Help inspire a world class team, providing growth opportunities and mentorship for junior employees
Liaise and partner with developers, compliance, SRE, developer experience, security and other teams
Advise teams on cloud networking implementations, capacity planning, and cost efficiency
You Should Have:
10+ years of experience as a software engineer building solutions for large-scale SaaS services
5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based Infrastructure on AWS
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, especially CloudFormation, Python, and Terraform
Solid understanding of network fundamentals, particularly AWS and Kubernetes
Production-level experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure
Experience with monitoring tools like DataDog, Grafana, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail
Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.) $221,500 — $246,250 USD
