The Opportunity: As Finance Director of Transportation at Flexport, you’ll be a core finance business partner to the Business and Product teams playing a key role in helping the business to scale effectively. The successful candidate will have experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with strong financial modeling skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Flexport; strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. This role will partner closely with a broad range of Finance and business leaders in the B2C Operations, HR, Technology, and Growth, in addition to data scientists, technical product managers, and software developers. What you’ll do:  Identify key leverage points for the business, develop a detailed understanding of unit economics, complete variance analysis, and manage KPIs to assist the business in improving performance Provide weekly reporting of business performance and opportunities to improve Develop ad hoc analyses and processes for a fast-growing startup to scale efficiently and make data-driven decisions Partnership and collaboration across cross functional working teams and assign / track corrective tasks and drive change across the organization What we’re looking for: Degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or other quantitative area or other degree with equivalent experience; an MBA or equivalent is desirable 12+ years of experience in Finance roles, showing progression in areas of responsibility Management experience and solid leadership skills, demonstrated ability to influence cross functional teams Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, ability to get into the details, excellent presentation and communication skills, and a curiosity and willingness to work on a wide range of projects Have backbone, disagree, and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions. You are a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members and model operations excellence and efficiency. Expert Excel skills and knowledge of accounting concepts; SQL skills nice-to-have Worried about not having any logistics experience? Don’t be!
