Position Overview

Our collaborative R&D teams use Serverless AWS technologies to build our SaaS platform and tackle strategic business challenges, creating highly impactful solutions for today and for our future to support Modern Governance.
We are looking for a Software Engineering manager to lead to our engineering teams. The Software Engineering Manager will lead, inspire, mentor and coach the agile delivery teams to ensure regular successful delivery of world-class software solutions and deliver on Diligent’s ambition to redefine the way organizations are governed.
The ideal candidate will have proven history to lead high-performing teams and deliver customer value. You should have strong technical background, hands-on knowledge in different disciplines and great communication skills. You should be able to setup performance measures for your teams and for the people and make sure teams and individuals are able to achieve their goals. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is motivated, pro-active and takes pride in his or her work.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and excellence, whilst actively promote Diligent values
Passionately but pragmatically drive Agile and DevOps principles and practices
Provide technical leadership within a highly collaborative technology environment
Collaborate with senior engineering managers to define technical strategy and architecture
Drive technical excellence
Co-ordinate and drive communication and collaboration between Engineering, QA, UX, Product, Operations, and other groups, to ensure regular smooth delivery of working software to production
This is a hands-on role, and this person will spend around half their time contributing as a hands-on software engineer. This will include:
Collaborating with product and UX leaders in the analysis and documentation of technical requirements and user stories for assigned features, in accordance with the agile methodology
Designing, coding, reviewing and testing assigned features and user stories, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent
Contributing to the quality assurance/testing strategy for assigned features, and performing technical tasks as required to support that strategy, including but not limited to development of unit and other automated tests, and assisting with acceptance and regression testing
Required Experience/Skills:
Full-stack engineer with a proven track record of building and supporting SaaS based commercial products
Ability to enable autonomous teams
Self-directed positive problem solver
Excellent written and oral communications
Successfully manage own workload, and take personal responsibility and ownership for delivery, behaviours, and self-improvement
Resourceful and fast learner of new technologies and methods
Experience building and using Rest web services
Experience with AWS, Terraform is a plus
Contributions to open-source projects and involvement in local meetups are a plus
You are fluent in English and you are not afraid of working in an agile environment.
Experience and knowledge of working in regulated environments such as SOX, ISO, etc. will be a plus.
Experience in People Management, mentoring, coaching
