Your Role:
The Vice President of Engineering will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities in the Engineering department. You will be closely with the CTO, founders and other VP/C-suite.
The Engineering team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will be reporting directly to the CTO.
Things You Get To Do:
Oversee all product engineering teams
Establish/refine systems and processes
Own processes for recruiting, incident response, incident review, talent performance management, technical design, development processes, deployment processes, architecture, and organizational structure evolution
Grow engineering team from 60 to 120 engineers this year and 300 engineers next year
Direct Reports: Directors, Eng Mgrs, and TLM
Must have experience at scale (both high performance, highly available systems) and ventures that have gone through significant scale and/or growing pains
Create alignment across engineering, drive urgency and importance of high value problems
Establishes, communicates, protects and implements engineering policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations
Establishes and implements the strategic direction of the engineering team
Create accountability and own engineering metrics
Establishes and administers the engineering budget
Who You Are (Must-Haves):
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; MBA preferred
At least ten years of related experience required
Previous experience at Director, VP, CTO level at an organization with tremendous engineering scale
Prior leadership skills and engineering teams management experience >100 people
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Strong analytical, data driven and problem-solving skills
