Director, Sourcing and H2 SolutionsStatus: Exempt (salaried) Department: NextGen Solutions Position SummaryThe Director of Sourcing and H2 Solutions has responsibility in identification, validation and management of suppliers or partners that can help accelerate our customer’s conversion to hydrogen solutions. This individual must possess a thorough knowledge of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry and have a demonstrated track record of success implementing complex multi-party solutions. The ideal candidate for this role must have a firm technical grasp on Plug’s customer’s needs while also possessing strong leadership skills. The position reports to the Vice President of NextGen Solutions.Principle AccountabilitiesWork with new and existing customers to understand their green energy transition plans and understand how our solutions can help accelerate their efforts.Establishment of strategic relationships that meet our current and future fuel cell and hydrogen solution needs.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport flawless execution of customer prototype and pilot programs with uninterrupted hydrogen supply.Work with the hydrogen business unit to establish a firm technical grasp on hydrogen plant expansion plans, hydrogen logistics and alternate supply options to support our customers needs.Manage commercial terms and supply agreements for strategic supplier or partner contracts.Identify and develop scalable hydrogen solutions from existing Plug products or 3rd party offerings.Develop and maintain the cost reduction road map for active NextGen solution programs and work across the organization to establish plans to meet customer targets.Help manage multiple development priorities with the broader supply chain organization.Initiate and lead cross-functional team meetings with supplier or partner representatives.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBS degree in engineering, business, or other relevant field of study; advanced degree and/or MBA preferred10+ years of managerial experience in engineering, sales or operations capacityAbility to travel as needed to perform the duties of the role.Training in 8D, Six-Sigma or other standard problem-solving methodologies is highly preferredAble to identify gaps and critical customer needs to meet program objectivesAbility to work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgencyDemonstrated strong leadership skills including daily communications with the team and with internal customers.Inspirational leadership characteristics: proven ability to coach and enable team developmentProven track record in project management; delivering quality results on-time and on budgetDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsUncompromising dedication to qualityAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Excellent follow-through.
