Job Requisition ID #23WD68904Position OverviewAs a Principal Engineer on the Mission Control Platform team, your mission will be to lead our group to a technically excellent culture. Both in people and technology. You will be among the most senior engineers on the team.Mission Control owns the hub of all data and features that are used within ACS. Because of that, we are leaning into an Inner Sourcing framework that allows teams to unblock themselves and decouple from our own roadmap. Your focus will be ensuring that the Admin products and services are a delight to develop on and lead a developer experience that entices developers outside of our teams to contribute to. We believe leaning into a culture of ownership and automation will help us get to the promised land, and we need you to help us get there.ResponsibilitiesYou will research, conceive, design and develop backend components and tools to extend, improve, stabilize and scale your team's backendCollaborate with a variety of teams in ACS, both domestic and abroadJoin the 24/7 on-call rotation to help field production issuesWrite unit / integration tests to achieve a better and more robust codeTake an active role in code reviews & pull requests, get your own code reviewed by the team and become a better developer overallMinimum QualificationsBS or MS in a technical field, or significant equivalent experience5+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experienceStrong experience with CI/CD including AWS (or similar) cloud engineering and configuration Have implemented and end of lifed large/complex systems end-to-end across multiple platforms or servicesExpertise with SQL/Postgres DBStrong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, and software developersAbility to work well in a remote-friendly distributed team to deliver on team goalsFlexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task between projects#LI-SD2Click below to learn more about our benefits in the US.https://benefits.autodesk.com/ At Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $139,100 and $224,950. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
