Solutions Engineering team in VMware is looking for a Staff Solutions Engineer who can work with our customers which are transforming their applications across multi cloud, improving path to production & building digital apps to build new revenue stream & enhance customer experiences.In this role you will be able to utilize your customer facing skills to fullest while representing VMware within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior tech executives (CIO, CISO, CTO, CDO, App Owners). With your deep technical background you will be interacting with customer’s IT operations, app developers and cloud architects and would be responsible for designing and implementing the system architecture using VMware software products. This role will provide the platform to utilize your technical skills to design scalable, reliable, and high-performance architectures that meet the business and technical requirements of VMware customers. Here you will be able to demonstrate your ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within your first 6 monthsBasis your experience and expertise on VMware solutions, you will be expected to develop a deep expertise in VMware Core, VMware Cloud, modern App and End user technologiesYou will be expected to build the architecture framework for large Government Enterprises in technology area such as SDDC, Private Cloud, Multi cloud and modern app solutions, which is designed for systems to be deployed at scale, use multiple technologies, patterns, and frameworksBuild strong understanding of VMware Multi-cloud solution and be familiar with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.Should be able to design systems in the cloud and be familiar with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.You will be expected to build the architecture framework for Cloud native modern app solutions, which is designed for systems to be deployed at scale, use multiple technologies, patterns, and frameworksEnable yourself to be hands-on for Proof of Concepts and demonstrate technologies.Build understanding of various architecture using VMware products and services with respect to customer business and technical requirements.Document identified repeatable pattern and best practices, picking up new technologies.After 6 months+You will be responsible for owning customer engagement for transformational projects on prem & across clouds.You will be responsible for deeper level expertize to conduct POC and Demo for VMware vCloud Suite Components and SDDC components.You will be responsible for analyzing customers IT infrastructure and application landscape and advising Architecture patterns (microservices), refactoring/re-platforming/rehosting.You will design virtualized environments that are efficient, secure, and highly available. Should be able to use your expertise in deploying and managing cloud-based services. Additionally, should be able to build deeper expertize with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.You will work with customers to map/model business requirements & user access patterns to technology & performance requirementWhile designing the solution, you will be responsible to figure out and explain trade-offs between selection of multiple technologies basis the customer’s IT and application requirement.You will be responsible for drive business opportunities in assigned patch along with sales teamWhat type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a new member of the Solution engineering Team (aka “SE TEAM”), you will:Work with VMware Account teams (Sales Executives), Product specialists, Professional Services teams to drive innovative solutions.Develop multi-cloud, modern app and modern workspace based software architecture that delivers on the customer’s objectivesDesign customer Data Center and cloud architecture for required scaling, high availability goals, while minimising the cost & meeting security requirements; design Disaster Recovery solutions for required RTO/RPO.Write technical design documents and hold reviewsCommunicate with customers via in-person and virtual meeting and gather requirements and facilitate value of your solutionsMake technical response to RFPs/ EOIsSubmit techno-commercial proposals to customer meeting customer technical and functional requirement by proposing VMware solution in most optimal way and also considering the competitive environment to ensure VMware wining aspects in opportunity are strengthened.What is the leadership like for this role?
