We hold an annual Dodgeball for Charity event at our Q2 Stadium in Austin, inviting other local companies to play, and community organizations we support to raise money and awareness together.Q2 is seeking a Director of Engineering, Digital Banking, a leader that enables the team to drive innovation and removes barriers that prevent the team from being it’s best. As part of our Engineering group, you will be working with business leaders, product management, and the engineering teams to develop technical visions and roadmaps to ensure we are constantly improving our Digital Banking platform and delivering valuable features to our customers and internal teams. The role is a part of a high performing team in a fast- paced fintech organization on the edge of a technical breakout. Our ideal candidate is someone with strong leadership skills who will energize and inspire the development teams to deliver high quality technology in a timely manner. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical leadership and vision, mentoring, coaching, career development and feedback for performance management to the Digital Banking teams. Drive architectural design and alignment, influence technology consumption and build solutions that solve complex problems with elegant, timely, quick, thoughtful, reusable infrastructure and software. Actively contribute to the company’s Digital Banking initiatives. Ensure that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to. Foster a culture across the company ensuring product and engineering teams are recognizing the value of and planning for data-driven insights and feedback loops. Interact with customers on escalated support issues and high value sales opportunities. Lead high-performing, agile engineering and data science teams responsible and able to deliver production deployments at a daily cadence. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, OR equivalent work experience. 12 + years of working experience in a senior software engineering or management role. Demonstrated leadership experience in a data-centric work environment. Experience managing cross-functional and distributed teams as well as supporting multiple products and projects. Demonstrated knowledge and interest in new and emerging technologies and software development tools. Experience planning and leading Engineering strategy initiatives. Ability to depict the technical information conceptually, logically, and visually. Customer and business focus, and demonstrated skills tied to leadership, people, communication, analytics, and adaptability. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated creative problem-solving skills. Ability to influence and retain composure under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands, communicate effectively with a wide array of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills.
