This position offers an opportunity to have a real impact in a fast-moving technology-focused company.What you'll be doing:Develop algorithms and design hardware and software extending the state of the art in computing, graphics, media processing, and other technology areas surrounding NVIDIA's business.Invent new techniques, technologies, methodologies, processes, and devices, to enable new products or types of products. Deliverable results include prototypes, patents, leading to products and publications.Produce technology vision and the basis for products 5-10 years out. Focus should not be on products currently shipping or in development, except as to how they can be extended and improved.Lecture / speak at conferences, events, University colloquium and classes to promote education in the areas of GPGPU, computing, parallel programming, programmable shaders and hardware, as well as other areas relevant to NVIDIA's business and technology.Collaborate with external researchers (primarily University) to encourage mutually beneficial work, and support Professors who are interested in teaching relevant classes.Participate in the process of research funding, including evaluation/selection of Fellowship and research grant recipients, and management of research programsWhat we need to see:Pursuing PhD Degree in relevant discipline(s) (CS, CE, EE, Physics, Math) or equivalent experience. 2+ years of relevant industrial and University experience preferred. Relevant industries include hardware, software, and algorithm development in PC or workstation graphics, digital video or image processing, video game or console, cell phones or consumer electronics, rendering software, and computing.Strong programming ability: C, C++ and Perl preferredTrack record of research excellence or significant product developmentStrong communication and collaboration skillsNVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
