Lead Tax Analyst

We are looking for a VAT/GST enthusiast to join our team.Initially reporting to the VAT Director, the Lead Tax Analyst will be an integral part of the Tax function for the group.  This is an amazing opportunity for someone with solid technical and practical VAT/GST knowledge to further enhance their experience in VAT. If you have a background in VAT/GST, we would love to speak with you.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (not essential).Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working in international indirect taxes.Previous experience with financial data, reports and filings relating to indirect tax.It would be great if you also had . . .Experience with ledger reconciliations.Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) or in agile technology solutions like Alteryx, and analytic tools like Tableau, Power BI and QlikAdvanced Microsoft skills to be able to analyse and review large volumes of data.What will you be doing in this role?Responsible for the completion of indirect tax filings and indirect tax planning on a global basis.Key point of contact for business VAT queries in billing and contracts.Ensure correct reporting on a group basis of VAT liabilities.Manage co-sourcing arrangements where needed to prepare indirect tax filings.Maintain an indirect tax risk register for the global group.Communicate with tax authorities and provide audit defence for indirect tax filings.Support the global function as needed for indirect tax.About the TeamThe role will initially report to the Indirect tax Director and is based in the London office at Liverpool Street.We are a diverse team of eight colleagues (this role will take the total to 9) based in the UK and India. The global Indirect tax team is part of the global centralized tax function (the SVP of Tax is based in the US) which means that the tax function oversees and advises all group entities.The Indirect tax team members have extensive knowledge of the global VAT/GST rules in respect of digital services and practical experience with the challenges faced with reporting obligations across the globe.
