Job Summary:Based in Slough or London Docklands, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across our UK data centres - from inception to close out - in accordance with Equinix's time, cost, quality and H&S expectations. Typically, projects will include: end of life replacements; single point of failure mitigations; energy use reduction; cooling & power capacity expansions; modernisation and sustainability. Projects vary in complexity, duration and value (up to approx. £5m for a single project). You will be part of a team of collaborative professionals, dedicated to mitigating operational risk by employing best-in-class processes and techniques to deliver projects seamlessly whilst safeguarding our many and varied customers. Responsibilities & expectations Project/Program Management Comprehensive understanding of project management principles, processes and disciplines. Track record of applying project management techniques to successfully deliver M&E critical infrastructure projects within time, cost, quality and safety constraintsExperienced in delivering projects within data centre or mission-critical environments.Develop and maintain each project’s Project Execution Plan Responsible for managing, tracking and controlling budget commitment and cash/spendWill be responsible for ensuring project governance/standards are in place, upheld and followed. Translate IBX requirements / outcomes (with support from UK Engineering Team) into high level technical solutions. Support the UK Project’s Team to continually improve work processes Stakeholder Management Identify and anticipate stakeholder needs. Support, and be an inclusive member of the UK Projects Team. Prioritise the UK Data Centre Operations needs in the long and short termUnderstand Customer confidentiality and security is a priority to the business as a whole Encourages and seeks feedback on the team or individuals. Is an escalation point to resolve stakeholder issues Formulates stakeholder communication plans for projects and programs Maintains and keeps under review the programs communication requirements and seeks to continually improve the team's communications standards Risk Management Compile and maintain project RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) registers for each project Revisit the RAID planning on a regular basis and implement mitigation measuresReport on risk and issues to relevant stakeholders throughout the duration of the project Knowledge and Experience Engineering and Technology Experience with infrastructure / construction project management, preferably within data centresKnowledge of UK CDM requirements, Global FM, and HSE complianceUnderstanding of working cross-functionally i.e. with the UK Engineering, Capacity, Sales, Datacentre Operations teams Customer and Personnel Experience Experience working in mission-critical organisations with dynamic, fast-paced, high risk environments. Understands how to assess customer needs and wants - through communication, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Creates an atmosphere of interdependence, collaboration, and reciprocal communication among departments or divisions within the company. Safety and Security Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective Datacentre operations for the protection of people, data, property, and sitesDemonstrable knowledge and experience in complying with the requirements of UK construction Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and safe working practices.Responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating health and safety hazards throughout the stages of project delivery.Contributes to inspections, internal and external audits Vendor Management Can build productive and purposeful relationships with consultants, contractors and service providers.Drives performance to ensure that projects are carried out to the set scope, budget, timescale and quality objectives.Experience in executing projects under the FIDIC suite of contracts and familiarity with the role of the Contract Administrator. Construction Knowledge of Data Centre MEP infrastructure design, installation techniques and operating principles to provide detailed input to internal/external construction teams.
