Activities include: Engineering and implementation of shore end installations, and testing operation; Install, maintain and support Element Management Systems (EMS) and Maintain system backups, security and performanceQualifications4-year degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or related field, or the equivalent in experience10 years telecommunications and optical engineering experience in submarine and terrestrial optical networksOptical Submarine Cables, Cable Landing Stations, Switching Architectures, DWDM, CWDM, G.709 OTN, MEF 2.0 Carrier Ethernet, MPLS/MPLS-TP, Intelligent control Planes, and Software Defined NetworkingSound working knowledge of key business applications that drive service provider networks: Data and Optical Services, Data Center/Cloud ecosystemsFamiliarity with test equipment (traffic generators, OSA, OTDR, power meters, etc.)Colo, space and power acquisitionManage national carriers’ product deliveryManaged submarine fiber systems deliverySubject matter expertise in: Terrestrial and Submarine Core Optical Transport; Submarine cable landing station services (space, power, network connectivity, consortium members); Front-haul and backhaul optical networks and Metro TransportExcellent verbal and written communications skillsStrong project management and organizational skillsThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $160,000 to $273,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.
