This was an exciting milestone by itself, but it also set out a framework for funding future xScale data centres around the world. In 2020, 2021 and 2022 we continued to invest in the initiative with a JV being established in APAC, and now we are looking to scale our global service delivery in 2023/2024.As a Senior JV Financial Accountant, you will have responsibility for end to end accounting activities for at least 1 JV, and will report to the Hyperscale Business Unit Sr. Manager. This role requires a ‘can do’ attitude and autonomous mindset with motivation to put their own stamp on the processes and grow with it as the hyperscale strategy grows.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior JV Accountant uses professional expertise while resolving a variety of accounting matters. Performs monthly accounting close activitiesProvide financial insight of JV in charge and ensure contractual and legal obligations in reporting of JV accounts to investors and local authorities are metWork with upstream data owners and cross-functional teams to support accounting activitiesPartner with business and all stakeholders in making sure all transactions are recorded timely and accuratelyMaintain Revenue and Leasing SchedulesWork with functional teams in reconciliation of fit-out costPrepare related party transactionsPrepare and reconcile loan amortization scheduleInterest capitalization rate computationReview month end reconciliations and audit schedules for JV in charge; work with functional teams in ensuring all reports are prepared timely and accurately upon month end closeManage the timely processing of bank transactions, accruals, capex, revenue and leasing transactions, intercompany transactions and other accounting entries with the teamPerform monthly Construction in Progress (CIP) percentage complete calculations and reviewsMonth-end accounting activities for a JV or set of JV’sPrepares and posts journal entriesPerforms flux analysis as well as ad hoc deliverablesPerform monthly balance sheet and profit and loss reviewsAct as the primary point of contact during statutory audits and prepare audit files for both internal and external auditors.Executes SOX controlsPrepares PBC (Provided/prepared by Client)Work closely with Tax, Legal, and Treasury departmentsContinuously drive for improvement in quality and efficiency in new processes and systems to enhance the workflow of the teamWork with an entrepreneurial team spirit Supports the partnership with upstream data owners, internal and external auditors, and Global Process Manager to solve a variety of accounting mattersQualificationsMSc or BSc in FinanceProven years of experience preferred working in Accounting/Financial control roleExperience with both IFRS and US GAAP is idealStrong communication skills – both in person and remotelyTeam player with entrepreneurial mindsetExperience in Oracle, Hyperion, Excel-preferredEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
