We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment. that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success. Job SummaryThe Director xScale Product reports to the Senior Director, xScale Product, and is responsible for contributing to the end-to-end delivery of the xScale product; product design, strategic customer engagement, competitor analysis, review cross-functional stakeholder process checkpoints, and assessment of strategic intent to Equinix and our investors.  ResponsibilitiesProduct Development Member of the product management function of xScale, encompassing planning, initiative development, and deployment Collaborates with Global Engineering Development team in ideation/research for MKx in direct response to customer future requirements   Evaluates new technologies & opportunities with T2M, sustainability, efficiency, flexibility & operability at the fore.   Evaluate overall constructability along with design to cost and program benefits  Speed to market study assessor and responsible for delivering all aspects of the tender  Collation of tender for MKx and on-going support for D&C in the GC role out of product understanding  Define the xScale product requirement standard and customer specific (Customer SKUs).  Develop SKU pack template outputs for each customer type to align with commercial/pricing BOQ’s eg NRC’s, MRC’s, SAP, etc  Coordinate dissemination of xScale technical requirements by interfacing with Equinix Design/Engineering team Development teams Track investment impacting KPI’s (time and money) to drive an on-time and on-budget approach.    Product Interlock & Strategy  Support achievement of coordination and engagement of the Equinix teams, in supporting technical due diligence requirements from Investors, lenders and appraisers   Ensures a tight, two-way relationship between Product and cross-functional stakeholders Contributes to the strategy and direction to scale and improve our product offering Builds and maintains healthy relationships at all levels of the organization - evangelizing with colleagues, aligning on common goals, and stacking hands on a shared vision Evangelizes the product portfolio by engaging regularly with internal teams and customers to drive deeper understanding of our products and offerings and differentiation in the market Seen as a thought leader, engaging with customers and internal teams to explain the product strategy Works within cross function teams for setting strategies for optimal utilization of resources across the program Identifies potential budget shortfalls and partner with Finance and/or other leadership to manage proactively Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed Presents to product proposals to senior leadership for final approval  Contributing to team performance & an inclusive culture  Build partnerships with the many stakeholders who support xScale within Equinix​ Provide guidance for escalations to other xScale and business stakeholders ​ Role model transformational leadership behaviors​ Challenge existing xScale managed processes based on industry best practice and trends to ensure Equinix, JV partners and customers are maintaining a best-in-class approach​​ Model the Equinix cultures and values​  Collaboration Characteristics of the Role: Is a transformational leader who excels at contributing to bold and meaningful change at scale and across multiple dimensions. Has a global mindset, across cultures, in a highly matrixed, relationship and consensus-driven environment. Cultivates Innovation – Creates new and better ways for the organization to be successful. Encourages innovative risk taking and embraces failure as a part of innovation  QualificationsSubstantial experience in designing and leading hyperscale product design Strong construction background and experience Solid experience of financial assessments of products, determine levers to deliver strategic drivers and outcomes Experience engaging with customers as part of the GTM motion Deep understanding of cross product capabilities to act as a thought leader  In depth knowledge of developing high level functional visions and business rules for end-to-end experiences Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred Enthusiasm for collaborating cross-functionally and cross-product to identify and lead the development of the platform Excellent communication skills and cross-functional organizational ability to influence others Prioritizes platform requirements, influence roadmap, and strategy, and driving impact with the rest of the business stakeholders Strong technical skills and experience, as well as an extraordinary passion for software development and delivering high-quality products Extraordinary written and communication skills having worked with executive management Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
