The API needs are primarily focused on building and publishing organizations business processes and capabilities. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining API Platform and application integration architecture blueprint for the organization. ResponsibilitiesPartner with key business and technology stakeholders in the organization to define API and Integration architecture blueprintDevelop and contribute to API standards, data, and enterprise integration standardsPerform analysis and design for API-led microservices architecture applications on cloud-based and container platformBe an interface to enterprise architecture community to align with the mutually defined key objectives and resultsDevelop and maintain the technology stack to include commercial or open-source software platformsBe an integral part of architecture review board to educate and influence project teams on use of integration technology, data architecture and modeling, system architecture including integration best practicesOversee critical steps within the Software Development Life Cycle components that impact enterprise-wide development / architecture standardsWork as a domain architect along with enterprise architects to define long term API and integration strategies for the organizationResearch and develop API and Integration maturity models in alignment with leading Industry standardsBe an evangelizer of the API and integration designs at Equinix and industry forumsProvide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications and application codeStandardize CI/CD setup for DevSecOps, API management tools and automated deployment with API monitoring and service management mechanismsOwn the operational and financial responsibility of the proposed architecture and designsQualificationsBachelor's/Master’s degree in computer science or technology or other equivalent field experience14+ years of hands-on experience in middleware or integration technologies working on defining Canonical Data Models, API and integration design specifications5+ years of experience in building highly scalable and distributed data layers with persistent storage and in-memory caching techniques5+ years of hands-on experience in relational and NO-SQL database technologies including but not limited to Postgres, Cassandra5+ years of hands-on experience in message-driven and event-based integrations using industry leading open-source products like RabbitMQ, Kafka or othersGood understanding of Data Ingestion techniques like Batch, Change Data Capture (CDC) and EventsExperience in working with Kubernetes container platform, Cloud platforms like AWS or GCP or Azure, GitHub, CI/CD pipeline is a plusExperience in digital transformation, transforming from Monolithic to Microservices application, Domain Driven Design (DDD) is a great plusKnowledge of API architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practicesKnowledge of industry leading integration methods and technologies including Open API specification 3.0, Web services, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Business process automation and orchestration tools and softwareKnowledge of graph query language and implementation is a plusStrong exposure and advocate of APIs and understanding of how APIs in general is helping transform digital economySelf-motivated, open mindsets, good problem solving and troubleshooting skills with strong "can-do" attitudeOpen-source collaborators are preferredEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
