As an integral part of our critical facility operations, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a great foundation in managing and maintaining data center infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for technology and a desire to kickstart their career in the data center industry.ResponsibilitiesFacility / Infrastructure MaintenancePerforms preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility componentsPerforms repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systemsSupports energy efficiency measuresMonitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating proceduresOperates and maintains electrical, plumbing, Cooling, fire suppression, and safety systemsOperates critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staffNormally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignmentsVendor SupportSupports the work approval process for service providers on maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out. Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's standard operating proceduresIn collaboration with vendors, supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-dateSite Administration & Incident SupportPerforms site logs and writes scripts and other Methods of Procedure (MOP)Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendationsResponds to on-site incidents, including failures, problems and delaysUses substantial understanding in following operating procedures to support on-site administrationWork Orders & Additional ProjectsCompletes routine work requests and circuit installationMakes minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directedCarries out infrastructure projectsCollaborationCollaborates within the department to resolve facility incidents May mentor team members on general maintenance activitiesMonitors inventory needs in order to maintain efficient stock levels of critical parts and equipmentMay recommend infrastructure projectsQualificationsHigh school diploma and 2-4 years of equivalent work experienceMust be willing to work nightsKnowledge of data center infrastructure components, including power distribution systems, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems, is preferred.Familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, such as generators, UPS systems, chillers, and CRAC units, is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks as the need arises.
