Designs software systems that orchestrate and manage containers and virtual machines that are production grade and externally consumable to our customer base.ResponsibilitiesRequirements AnalysisUnderstands, reads, and reviews requirementsWorks with Business Analysts to understand business requirementsInteracts with product management teams to understand product requirementsSoftware ArchitectureParticipates in architectural review processSoftware DesignLeads Features and multiple modules design and participates in overall product designProvides technical leadership to the teamEvaluates and recommends adoption of open source (pivot points to Software Architecture job family)Compute and Network PlatformsIntricate knowledge of Cloud Service Providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)An understanding of cloud network architecture and how that relates to networking outside of the cloud constraintsExperience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and other container orchestration systemsFamiliarity working with virtualization technologies such as OpenStack/Qemu/KVMDevelopment/CodingDevelops scripts and code for a feature and multiple modules and productCross-technical integrationParticipates in peer reviewsAdoption of standard coding processesTestingDevelops unit testsFixes defectsDevelops test strategiesRecommends testing frameworksDevOpsDefines roadmap of automation tools and its value to software engineering practicesDrives infrastructure provisioning working with cross-domain teams and works on projecting future infrastructure capacityTakes accountability of the Design Reviews and deliverablesSoftware Reliability & Support EngineeringDefines roadmap of production change control and its value to software engineering practicesDrives certification processes working with cross-domain teamsTakes accountability of the Operational SLAsDebugs L2 and L3 incidents/problemsTechnical Project ManagementProvides level of effort (LOE)Works with technical project managers and product management teams to define scheduleProvides status reportsDefines and drives release management planningR&D/InnovationInvestigates, analyzes, and evaluates new technologiesInfluences senior management in setting the organization's technical objectivesKeeps abreast of new developments to help define the necessary changes to practiceQualifications7+ years experienceBachelor's in Computer Science or equivalentThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area:  $143,000 to $235,000California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state:  $137,000 to $225,000Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island:  $124,000 to $204,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
