It is a key role in delivering LN’s internal and external reporting requirements for the UK, including monthly and quarterly balance sheet reporting, statutory account filings (including consolidations), P&L reporting for certain non-wholly owned entities and US GAAP entities, and group and statutory audit coordination. The role is a key technical resource which will also assist with M&A due diligence and accounting and drive post acquisition completion transition on to Oracle.What it’s like to work in the Team The Financial Reporting team works closely to support the wider LN finance function including management accounts and transaction processing teams. Who you are Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience EssentialDemonstrable experience post-qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Up to date knowledge of Financial Reporting standards, including FRS102Knowledge of US GAAP Prior experience managing people Robust Excel knowledgeStrong administration and time management skillsAble to handle pressure and conflicting deadlinesDesirableExperience with Oracle and BPC Experience dealing with auditsBehavioursThe following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a success:Self-motivator and problem solverDeadline focusedGood communicatorWorks well in a team environment and always willing to help othersWhat the role includesReview or preparation of various deliverables for consolidated balance sheet reporting under US and UK GAAPs, coordinating with numerous local operating units and the Int’l and US Corporate teamsManage the relationship with external and internal auditorsOversee the external group audit (under US GAAP) and the various external statutory audits (under FRS 102, including consolidated accounts), plus the internal SOX audit. Manage the preparation and review of consolidated and individual company statutory accounts under FRS 102 (excel based and using Caseware software)Work with the US Technical team and UK Sponsorship accountant on revenue recognition for large sponsorship contracts across the UK & IrelandManage the accounting for leases under US GAAP and differences between UK & US GAAP, including treatment of associated lease costsReview the monthly upload of entities outside of Oracle, identifying any accounting issues or variancesReview of UK group balance sheets and quarterly commentary on variances versus prior quarter / year-endReview of non-controlling interest calculations, and group consolidation and US GAAP adjustments Periodic review of various property and dilapidation provisions held across the Group Coordinating with the Tax department in providing deliverables to enable their UK and US tax calculationsOverseeing local operating unit balance sheet and process reviews (including some on-site visits across the UK)Understanding and communicating the application of new accounting standards and review of compliance with current accounting standards, including in instances of new acquisitions, disposals and re-structuresCoordinate any SOX control changes and Statement of Authority updates with UK FCs/FDs to ensure complianceEnsure technical accounting memos on new and / or complex accounting issues are completedAd hoc M&A projects including performing financial due diligence on potential acquisitions, integration of new acquisitions into the group, including liaising with local accountants to assist with onboarding, as well as opening balance sheet accounting under UK and US GAAPAd hoc projects to review and streamline the reporting processOverseeing and reviewing the annual budget and forecast updates for US GAAP companies Equal OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
