The eBay Motors team is working on the best end-to-end buying and selling experience for vehicles, parts and accessories. We partner closely with teams across eBay to improve the core experience for our customers while simultaneously embracing the unique passions, interactions, and communities of our customers. We work across the product development cycle and pride ourselves for solving really big problems with design thinking.Team Role:Using design creativity and user-centered design principles, you will work with cross-functional teams that are reinventing the social, mobile and local commerce landscape. Your responsibility in this role is to help craft elegant and simple interfaces that solve complex interaction problems for a broad range of customers. You will coach and mentor designers and build out the design capability of the team, improving execution, operational maturity and team health. This role will be designing across mobile and desktop platforms as well as taking advantage of emerging mobile technologies and partner services.Responsibilities:Create world-class, user-centered designs incorporating customer needs, business requirements, technical feasibility and future trendsContribute to the creative direction and work with design leadership to ensure a cohesive user-experience across the product portfolioDevelop conceptual diagrams, information architecture maps, wireframes, visual mockups, lightweight specifications, prototypes and demosParticipate in user research and product testing and use data for your decision makingHelp lead product discovery activities and collaborate on future direction with peers, researchers, design leaders, product partners, engineers and executivesContribute to departmental planning and budgeting, helping shape and implement team priorities and support project deadlinesRequirements:BS Degree in Interaction Design or equivalent and 8+ years experience in product designExperience in core design research, including competitive and landscape analysis, pattern research and crafting insights from observationSpecialist in designing across multiple devices from mobile, tablet, and desktopExperience working with product managers and developers to deliver great experiencesExpertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CS, Principle, Envision, etc.)Outstanding portfolio demonstrating a broad range of product design work across web-based applications, consumer experiences and mobile devicesPreferred Requirements:Experience working in the automotive industry or a passion for motorsE-commerce / marketplace experienceBenefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
