Every day, dozens of petitions are started on Change.org in the UK. Our UK campaigns team is uniquely placed to offer practical tools and coaching support to empower these petition organisers to grow their campaigns and achieve impact. We are looking for a Campaigner to join our small but mighty UK team.
A bit about Change.org: we’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest nonprofit-owned tech platform focused on civic action with 100m monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour. From helping to bring Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe home from imprisonment in Iran, to ending the Tampon Tax and supporting Awaab Ishak’s family to secure Awaab’s law (new regulation to protect social housing tenants from damp and mould); Change.org petitions have a huge impact on people’s lives in the UK and globally.
Role Overview:
This role is an exciting opportunity to lead Change.org’s UK campaigns team - running an operation that both supports our UK users to run impactful campaigns on the country’s most pressing issues and works to build a powerful Change.org brand. Within the role you will be managing the UK team, as well as acting as a key role model for staff across our global teams.
You will be responsible for management and execution of regional campaigns/comms strategy within the UK. This role will also support the Managing Director of Europe and Australia by contributing to strategic program development for the UK. On a given day you will be managing and coaching campaigners to support the most important issues for people in the UK, helping build campaigns and storytelling strategies to win campaigns, analyzing team delivery and making suggestions to improve performance to our goals. As a member of the Europe leadership team you will contribute to the building of wider regional strategy and wider cross departmental collaboration.
Key Outcomes:
Successful Campaigns Support Operations
Manage campaigners in the UK market, build and execute systems/processes that deliver on ambitious UK campaign goals
Coach and mentor UK campaigners, ensuring they are able to run big impactful campaigns, support organizers, and deliver impactful experience for UK users
Work in collaboration with Managing Director of Europe to support strategic planning for the UK and make contributions to the strategy of the broader Europe/Australia team
Lead on campaign support learning within the UK, capturing insights and running tests to help build best practice across the organization
Provide direct support to Change.org’s biggest UK campaigns, offering your deep campaigns and communications expertise to help achieve impact
Management
Work in collaboration with direct reports to align on personal goals and outputs that contribute to the team goals
Build a culture of high performance in the UK
Support your team to grow through clear, loving, and effective feedback
Build a positive, equitable and engaged culture within the UK and act as a leader & role model for our London office
Represent and elevate the needs of your team, collaborate with Managing Director of Europe and Australia and the people team to manage UK Campaigns team member operations
Brand, Media and Storytelling
Support the Managing Director of Europe and Australia by providing UK specific brand expertise, inputting in regional comms/brand strategies, and executing these within the UK market
Build the profile of change.org brand and help to win campaigns by working with journalists and influencers to showcase the most powerful Change.org campaigns
Help protect the UK brand, providing country specific expertise by flagging large comms risks and providing a required amount of crisis comms support to the strategic communication team when required
Act as a spokesperson for Change.org in the UK when needed

Campaigning and Communications:
You have your finger on the pulse of what people across the UK are talking about online, in politics, and traditional media. You know what will resonate in a busy social feed.
You have a good understanding of the current social justice, economic, political and environmental issues facing the UK. You also have a strong network in the activist/social change/civic tech space as well as with journalists.
You are an expert in written and oral communication. You have an insightful understanding of messaging and framing, and the judgment to repeatedly find the right message to engage Change.org users, decision makers, journalists and other stakeholders.
You have a strong background in grassroots campaigning or with advocacy NGOs or journalism , and come with innovative ideas to win campaigns and scale impact.
You have lived experience of or experience working with communities that have experienced marginalization/oppression
Strategy:
A strategic thinker , who is able to see through the day to day and isolate what a campaign, your market or your team need to meet objectives.
You are data savvy and are able to work across formats with segmentation, analysis and reporting, in collaboration with analytics and strategy experts.

This is a permanent position that can be remote and based anywhere in UK - however you should be prepared to visit the London office on a regular basis. Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each city. The annual salary for this role would be 59,500 GBP in London and 54,000 GBP everywhere else in the UK.
