The Smartsheet Content Management Pillar is looking for a talented and motivated Engineering Manager to join our Product Engineering team and expand our impact as an established leader in Digital Asset Management. You will inspire the most recognizable brands in the world, including TripAdvisor , Slack and GettyImages , by creating simple, intuitive and elegant experiences in scalable distributed systems handling millions of API requests. You will report to our Senior Engineering Manager located in our Bellevue office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
Write clean and efficient code based on product specifications and participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
You bring the best out of everyone and have a strong partnership with both engineering and other partners.
Create and promote modern web UI development
Develop modular, maintainable components for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS)
Manage a team of 5-8 software engineers to deliver great products to our customers
Lead, coach, and inspire your team to achieve high-quality software
Collaborate with partner teams across the company including product management, development, UX design, and customer support teams
Own the front-end, backend services, and GCP infrastructure that powers Brandfolder and connected products
Establish lean engineering processes that promote collaboration and rapid iterations to build the right product to solve the right problems
Hire and grow your team by promoting career development
Drive engineering excellence, architectural development, GCP cost optimization, and operational monitoring best practices for highly available services
You Have:
8+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years managing software engineering teams.
A deep software development skills in at least one systems development language such as Ruby, React.Js, C#, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
Experience with unit, e2e, and integration testing
Experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks and integrating with back-end services
Experience building Single Page Applications at scale
Comfort in an environment with frequent production releases
Experience writing complex asynchronous code that communicates with multiple services
Knowledge of continuous deployment and development best practices
The drive to dive in, constantly learn new things, and build awesome products
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience

Smartsheet provides a competitive range of compensation for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $167,400 to $243,000 | All other US States: $155,000 to $225,000
