As a Senior Software Engineer on the Compliance team, you will get to help us build world-class customer experiences. You will collaborate with domain experts to design, build, test, and maintain systems that provide 401(k) plans and delight our customers. As reliability is key to earning our customers’ trust, you will build robust systems that are observable, maintainable, and scalable .

Build business-critical software that processes customers' retirement savings
Effectively scale our enterprise applications to support a fast growing customer base
Improve complex systems and processes to make them more robust and require less human intervention
Develop ownership over domains in our system and make informed engineering tradeoffs
Lead other engineers by sharing knowledge and building expertise on the team
Write clean, high-quality code and tests, following development best practices
Delight internal and external stakeholders by delivering high-value features
Participate in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing, code reviews, and production releases
Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
What you bring to the role
7+ years of experience building and maintaining software in production
Desire to work with the following technologies: TypeScript, React, Node, AWS and PostgreSQL .
Strong communication skills. Unpacking financial domain rules and discussing complex technical concepts with engineers and non-engineers is no problem to you
Proactive and empathetic mindset - you love to roll up your sleeves to fix problems for our customers
Experience building scalable backend technologies
Excellent teamwork and collaboration ability
Strong desire to learn new skills and grow
Enjoy mentoring other engineers and deeply reviewing their code
Past experience working in startups and/or fintech
Nice to have
Experience using and developing component libraries/design systems
Prior knowledge of GraphQL
Prior experience with Typescript, React and Node
401k or finance tech background
Proficiency with Git as a version control system

Compensation - The salary range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $185,000 - $210,000 . Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, compensation/equity mix, and market data. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards, short-term incentives, or sales compensation.
