Our Ways of Working
We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. Due to the nature of this role, we would expect someone to be onsite in Beverly Hills, CA.
We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.
What The Role Is
Babylist is launching a new showroom in Beverly Hills and we’re looking for motivated Shift Leads to help spearhead the Babylist Showroom and Shop experience.
The Shift Lead will play an essential role in helping our guests feel more informed and prepared for their Babylist journey – whether the guest is expecting or celebrating someone who is.
This role will also assist the store leadership team with day-to-day operational tasks to make sure the Showroom and Shop are operating to their highest potential. This Shift Lead reports to the Sr. Showroom Manager and works closely with the rest of the Showroom team. As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for providing guests with product information and recommendations, assisting with purchases, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience from start to finish. Shift Leads will also be the managers on duty if the Sr. Store Manager is not present. Throughout the duration of their shift they will be expected to support the showroom and shop teams with guest flow and will be responsible for all opening and closing duties.
Who You Are
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or guest service role, with demonstrated leadership or key-holder abilities
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills both internally with teammates and externally with guests, with a strong focus on guest service and relationship building
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and retail operations, along with knowledge of Babylist registries and products is a plus
You have a passion for delivering the very best in customer experience and do so by creating genuine and warm connections
You are flexible with availability and open to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
You have the ability to lift and carry 25-30lbs and stand for 8-10 hours
How You Will Make an Impact
Lead by example, providing exceptional service, and helping guests navigate the showroom and boutique experiences
Manage opening and closing procedures, including security, safety, and maintenance checks
Act as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the store and managing security protocols
Ensure showroom and boutique staff are trained and knowledgeable on product features, benefits, and safety guidelines, and provide ongoing coaching and support
Maintain a strong focus on sales performance, guest satisfaction, and product knowledge proficiency, setting clear expectations and driving accountability
Collaborate with the Showroom team on ways to constantly improve the Babylist showroom and boutique experience, including inventory receiving, visual merchandising, and upkeep of store maintenance
Provide regular feedback to the Sr. Showroom Manager and Boutique Manager and assist in the development and implementation of showroom/boutique strategies and initiatives
Act as a liaison between the Sr. Showroom Manager and the team, effectively communicating company policies, procedures, and initiatives
Meet and exceed sales goals and performance metrics, including guest satisfaction, revenue targets, and product knowledge proficiency

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The estimated pay range for this role is $25.00/ hour.
In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
