What you’ll do:
As a member of our Systems Engineering team you will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering, and will help define, validate, implement, and verify requirements for our first certified aircraft. You will act as the multi-disciplinary integrator for the electric Propulsion System and contribute to the integration of the vehicle as a whole.
What you’ll do
Ensure the Propulsion System requirements sets are complete and correct, with traceability to and fulfilling higher-level requirements
Coordinate with other System Engineers to ensure the fully integrated aircraft meets its requirements and is optimized
Collaborate with the Propulsion System technical lead and safety engineer to define the functional breakdown
Aid in definition of functional, physical, and logical interfaces
Participate in architecture definition, trade studies, and mutli-disciplinary integration problem solving
Develop lower-level requirement sets with support from the technical lead and subject matter experts
Coordinate the Validation and Verification processes for the Propulsion System, ensuring the plans are followed and process independence is maintained
Contribute to improving internal processes and tools
What you need:
BS Degree in engineering or related field
10+ yrs of experience in developing and verifying propulsion systems
Experience working in the development of electronic control units (including definition of Fault Management, Detection and Annunciation)
Experience using one or more requirements management tools
Collaborative mindset
Great organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication
Passion for learning and problem solving
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience developing and certifying electric propulsion systems or systems containing large electrical motors on one or more vehicles
Experience developing highly integrated aerospace systems
Full understanding of systems engineering practices and the underlying reasons and purpose for each process and activity
Experience working on type certification of an aircraft from start to finish under 14 CFR Part 23/27 or equivalent regulations
Experience on one or more civil aviation programs with a Systems Engineering process used for certification credit
Experience writing Qualification Test Procedures
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
Experience defining custom features or proposing improvements to requirements management tools
Knowledgeable on 14 CFR Part 33/35 or equivalent regulations
Knowledgeable on SAE ARP4761, especially Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Prior experience on certification projects with significant software and complex hardware elements
Background in RTCA DO-178 and DO-254

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $164,000- $205,000 . Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
