As an Astera Labs Hardware Test Engineer, you will be part of a Hardware Engineering team that designs and manufactures products featuring Astera Labs’ portfolio of connectivity ASICs used in the world’s leading cloud service providers, server and network OEMs. In this role you will be responsible for test infrastructure development, installation, and support. You will be working closely with designers, manufacturing team, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure that hardware products test flow is properly introduced, released to manufacturing, and supported past production.
While your focus will be on developing/supporting test infrastructure, you will have opportunity (and be expected - depending on your experience) to contribute to adjacent areas such as NPI, product engineering, validation, and quality. Own manufacturing test infrastructure (functional test, temperature/burn-in, ESS)
Work with design and diagnostic teams to define test process
Work with contract manufacturers and test fixture suppliers to define, develop, procure, and install test equipment
Work with IT team and contract manufacturers to setup test equipment connectivity both within factory and from factory to Astera
Analyze end-to-end manufacturing capacity and work with operations team for future planning
Collaborate with cross-functional partners on developing CM ability to prototype, launch, and transition to volume production
Work with factory and engineering teams to troubleshoot failures
Be “first line of defense” for manufacturing test issues
Participate in / help to define manufacturing processes (NPI, product engineering, validation, quality)
Basic Qualifications
5+ years in manufacturing test development
Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering or electronic manufacturing. Bachelor’s in EE or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in test engineering or electronics manufacturing.

Required Experience
Strong understanding of high-tech manufacturing processes, NPI activities, and product development lifecycle
Expert in test infrastructure development
Experience working with off-shore contract manufacturers
Track record of launching complex electronics products
Demonstrate ability to analyze manufacturing test dat
Preferred experience
Familiarity with optical/electrical networking module manufacturing and testing (e.g. SFP+, QSFP, OSFP)
Familiarity with PCIe CEM card manufacturing and testing
EE design experience. Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools from Cadence, Altium, and others.
EE debug experience
Technical writing skills to generate clear, precise documentation such as manufacturing instruction/rework/deviation documents.
Experience with ASIC/silicon development
