An overview of this role A newly created role at GitLab, we're looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Infrastructure team and work on org-wide projects. Reporting into the VP of Infrastructure & Quality, and partnering with people from Senior Directors through to Engineers - you'll plan and execute complex infrastructure projects across Engineering and Product. This is a high impact role as you will be directly affecting the infrastructure supporting gitlab.com, as well as have the opportunity to help define and build the TPM role/function at GitLab. You are someone who has likely worked on a platform on the size of, if not larger than gitlab.com - you will know what challenges we're going to face and how we can mitigate those. This is a 100% remote position, with a preference for someone based in the Americas timezone. You can read much more about the Infrastructure department and their goals here.   What you'll do Establish a reliable and visible cadence for initiative reviews, decision making, prioritisation and staffing management. Manage Infrastructure programs, define milestones and success criteria, staffing allocation to ensure successful on-time deliverables. Identify and coordinate the interdependencies among programs, products and other critical initiatives across departments.   Lead strategic planning with direct influence over staffing decisions, project timelines and planning stakeholders. Define acceptance criteria for solutions, value proposition and milestones for execution; Validate prototypes with partners and iterate solutions as needed to deliver value Develop repeatable, scalable, efficient, and effective processes.     What you'll bring Deep understanding of planning and executing complex programs that span multiple engineering teams through the software project lifecycle. Strong experience leading large scale cloud SaaS deployments Demonstrated experience leading projects at a massive scale, equivalent to or larger than GitLab. Experience with complex software infrastructure systems including compute, storage, data migration, capacity, load balancing and software defined networking. Demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders at all levels   About the team The Infrastructure Department enables GitLab (the company) to deliver a single DevOps application, and GitLab SaaS users to focus on generating value for their own businesses by ensuring that we operate an enterprise-grade SaaS platform. The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
