Less than 3000 people globally have first-hand experience on how to train, evaluate, and deploy custom LLMs into commercial settings. As a Forward Deployed Engineering team member, you’ll make efficient decisions using experience and training around data asset development, model training, and evaluation. At each step of the model development lifecycle, Forward Deployed Engineering teams optimize for speed of delivery to gain real-world feedback while in parallel building towards production-grade engineering. Successful candidates for this exciting team will have expertise via commercial experience in day-to-day NLP for industry using Python and related toolchains (SpaCy, HuggingFace, NLTK, etc.) and a working knowledge of mathematics (differential calculus, linear algebra, etc.), underpinning transformer NLP processing pipelines (self-attention, BPE, etc.). Training and Experience Requirements: - BS in computer science or related STEM field, and 7+ years of industry experience building commercial NLP products and services. - MS in computer science or related STEM field, and 5+ years of industry experience building commercial NLP products and services. - Ph.D. in computer science or related STEM field, and 1+ years of industry experience building commercial NLP products and services. Other Important Qualifications: - Hands-on industry experience building NLP pipelines that operate on real-world data. - Experience building offline data engineering pipelines along with real-time systems (example chat systems). - Experience in customer-facing / professional services positions with internal or external stakeholders is a plus. - Hands-on industry experience training, evaluating, and deploying Machine Learning models while making necessary tradeoffs given the deployment context.
