As a Senior Product Designer, you will apply principles of design thinking to conceptualize and create useful & usable, simple & efficient and refined experiences for the future of our core product. You will represent the customer’s needs and promote human-centered methodologies across the product team and learn about business needs in order to ensure proposed design experiences meet a range of needs – from first-time users to seasoned experts.
This role is located in our Bellevue, WA headquarters (remote eligible) and will report to the UX Design Manager.

What You'll Do:
Lean in and take responsibility and ownership of delivering quality experiences.
Elevate the status quo by setting a high bar for ideas, craftsmanship, and quality.
Dig deep into user needs and goals and articulate them to a range of stakeholders.
Create visually stunning interfaces that address customers' needs and foster emotional connection to our brand.
Co-author documents that articulate what problem you are solving, why, the impact, possible solution hypotheses and how you will measure success.
Create task flows, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and other interaction design deliverables that demonstrate the intended customer experience.
Rapidly iterate on prototypes and designs to test hypotheses and iterate towards the most effective solution. Support research partner(s) in user testing.
Propose solutions to address experience gaps within the limits of business and technical constraints.
Craft engaging narratives to bring stakeholders along throughout the design process.
Seek out and incorporate user, team and stakeholder feedback.
Provide detailed design specifications with the details your Engineering partners need to effectively and efficiently implement proposed experiences. Work in parallel and provide feedback as your product partner refines the product specification.
Attend team and Eng ceremonies and be a proactive member of the triad.
Support other duties as necessary (such as tasks that drive knowledge sharing or improve UX processes).
What You Bring:
5+ years design experience, with strong skill in information design, visual design, system thinking and synthesis.
A growth mindset and a passion for User Experience, Software as a service (Saas) and Collaborative Work Management (CWM).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – ability to effectively bring people along the journey, foster collaboration and get things done with others. Ability to help teams across the organization gain alignment on user, business, and technical needs.
Experience designing complex interactions that account for business needs, customer needs, human emotions and scale. Ability to craft simple solutions to complex problems.
Ability to clearly articulate design decisions.
Discipline – you are tactical and gritty in your approach and execution.
Experience leading one or more critical products in direction and strategic thinking while developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the customer impact and product vision.
Experience setting the bar high for craft, quality and completeness.
Experience designing products that are not just usable but useful and provide clear value to both customers and the business.
Experience facilitating activities to gather insights on user and business needs and goals.
An ability to proactively solicit and provide feedback in order to continually raise the bar for quality of thought and execution.
Excellent visual design skills and sensibilities.
Expert in Figma (static mocks and interactive prototypes).
Experience with Agile methodologies
A degree in Design (Interaction, Product, Communication, HCD, or related) or deep experience doing such things.

Smartsheet provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $118,800 to $172,800 | All other US States: $110,000 to $160,000
