ROLE SUMMARY
This exciting position will lead the Advanced Product Quality (APQ) functions through Product Design, Development, Validation, Launch, Warranty, and Continuous Improvement for our world class Automotive Interior Systems - driving prediction and prevention of quality issues while implementing risk mitigation solutions. This opening is located at our Normal, Il facility and will directly report to the Senior Manager of Advanced Product Quality – Interiors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and lead Advanced Product Quality initiatives focused on Rivian Interior Systems
Develop APQ internal systems following AIAG or similar phased approach planning models
Develop FMEAs and lead system analysis and resolution plans, PLATO experience a plus
Define robust full vehicle “Nominal Cubing” strategies - lead design, purchase, manufacture, installation, and certification
CATIA experience a plus
Conduct gauge R&R / Measurement System Analysis
Conduct process capability analyses for critical, safety and functional specification
Update and maintain FMEAs, Control and Attribute Quality Assurance Plans, SPC improvements
Create, execute, and track adherence to Quality Metrics
Assist with closure of supplier PPAP submissions
Drive internal awareness of quality initiatives
Have ability to support urgent program deliverables as required with minimal notice or instruction
QUALIFICATIONS
BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline
6-10 years’ experience in Advanced Product Quality, Operations Quality, Quality Systems Design, Vehicle Interior Systems background
Knowledge of advanced quality tools and statistical techniques including Six Sigma methods
Proven technical knowledge and ability to work in a cross functional collaborative environment
Intermediate competency in Catia
Intermediate understanding of GD&T / Design for Manufacturing
Curiosity for how things work, inclination and determination to improve them
Logical and thoughtful approach to problem solving
Ability to create and lead multiple projects in a fast-paced vehicle production environment
