Search JobsJob DescriptionVMware is looking for a Member of Technical Staff in the Telco Cloud R&D (SEU) to enhance its next phase of building core components in the Telco Cloud and Edge portfolio.  The candidate will deliver product solutions and drive the team to translate this vision towards next generation Cloud and edge computing solution for Telco customers and partners. will also mentor and lead the team towards building high quality, architecturally sound solutions that are aligned with our business needs.    The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity? As the Senior Software Engineer for the Telco Cloud R&D will work on enhancing its next phase of building core components in the Telco Cloud and Edge portfolio.  You will deliver product solutions and drive the team to translate this vision towards next generation cloud and edge computing solution for Telco customers and partners. You will mentor junior engineers towards building high quality, architecturally sound solutions that are aligned with our business needs. The telco cloud will be a highly distributed, nationwide multi-cloud system that will enable telcos to deploy 5G networks and edge cloud services as software applications on top and thus transform telco legacy infrastructure into modern, agile cloud-scale systems. You will be successfully building highly scalable cloud platforms within large complex systems. You will contribute to the delivery of complex cloud software solutions that have resulted in significant market impact. You will be an integral part of our SEBU technical team The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?  Champion delivering as key part of the VMware Telco Cloud portfolio.Demonstrating programming competency in Java, Python or GoCollaborate with other teams in designs, solutions, and all phases of development.Partner with senior management and cross functional teams in developing long-term plans for our NFV Solutions.Develop project plans and execute against them in an agile environment.Deliver per product plans and be proactive in day-to-day processes as part of product life cycle.Own up customer needs with prototypes, simulations, and early adoption on technological aspects.Self-managing and organizing to lead and mentor team members to achieve their career goals.Be able to prioritize actively with team members towards release targets with feature velocity.Be obsessed for our customers in all aspects as security, quality, resiliency, scale, performance and use cases.Dynamic in adapting to changes in rapid development environment.Engage in team events such as hiring and others.Be responsible and have a high stature on company values and growth.Success FactorsYour experience in the following areas will accelerate your success:Aptitude for being analytical and in problem solvingStrong with programming skills and software development lifecycleAbility to be dynamic and quick in learning new technologiesFamiliar with Scrum methodologies  Proven experience in building scalable, distributed systemsExposure to debugging, CI/CD tools a plus Ability to work with and lead strong engineers Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team Knowledge of Telco/NFV market is a big plusMotivated to work in rapid development and change environments  Computer Science systems knowledge and expertiseFamiliarity with Kubernetes and cloud technologies is desirableWhat is the leadership like for this role? The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
