The PMT leads are accountable for their platforms & products with key partnerships in Development, Operations, Marketing, Quality, and Commercial. The PMT leads generally take overall responsibility for on-market support of one or more sequencing platforms starting prior to product launch (engaging with the core team) and continuing through product End of Support (EOS).The PMT operates in a matrix environment with the PMT lead expected to coordinate and oversee on-market platform projects, application projects, consumables projects and Life Cycle Management. It is a highly collaborative role where you are expected to lead complex cross functional technical troubleshooting investigations in a fast paced and dynamic environment.The role is for the PMT lead for Illumina’s groundbreaking new platform – the NovaSeq X (https://emea.illumina.com/systems/sequencing-platforms/novaseq-x-plus.html).The role reports to the Director, High Throughput Platform Management Team as part of the On-Market Portfolio Group within Research & Development.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the platform is meeting the published performance levels and claimsSatisfy the needs of post-market surveillance of regulated productsAggregate issues and events from all data sources (e.g. field service, development, manufacturing, supply chain, automated status monitoring sources, etc.) to assess overall system performanceIdentify, track, and act on leading indicators of potential issuesBe the default internal point of contact for the platformUnderstand the evolving needs of our customers and assess any impact on our product definition and specificationsDrive improvement to the platform based on business prioritiesTriage issues and events identified from various sourcesCoordinate root cause/failure analysis activities across functional areas as necessaryPrioritize activities based on impact and available resources and identify opportunities that could be realized with additional resourcesNegotiate with Business Unit Leaders and other key stakeholders to converge on optimal changes to the platform from a broad company perspective, leveraging organizational resources efficientlyCoordinate and drive platform extension activities including design change, development, verification, and validation to deliver new applications and/or performance/robustness enhancementsDrive communication throughout the organization about platform performance and plans for the platformGenerate, maintain, and publish platform roadmap to stakeholdersTrack and report platform performanceManages PMT that consists of representatives of all key functions associated with the product including, but not limited to, Customer Support, Marketing, Ops, Product Dev, Finance, QACoordinates regular meetings to discuss platform performanceDrives decisions relating to platformTracks any performance related projects initiated out of the PMTReports to the Director, High Throughput Platform Management TeamMay or may not have direct reports based on the needs dictated by the specific platform*Must be open to international travel (10-15%) to maintain alignment with global sites and customersSkills and Experience:Proficiency leading project and/or core development teamsDemonstrated success leading in a matrixed environmentSolid written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of IVD/Dx quality and regulatory requirementsSolid systems level understanding of sequencing technologyIdeally has experience with one or more Illumina platformsUnderstanding of Business Operations – manufacturing, supply chain, etc.Education:M.S./Ph.D. in Engineering, Genomics, Genetics, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry, or related field is desired, along with 8 years of relevant experience managing product development, product sustaining, process development, design, scale-up, improvement, or validation activities/teams.The estimated base salary range for the Associate Director, NovaSeq X Platform Management Team Lead role based in the United States of America is: $163,900 - $245,900. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
