Our global platform allows customers to place infrastructure wherever they need it and connect it to everything they need to succeed.We are a fast-growing global company with 20 years of continuous growth. Through our innovative portfolio of high-performance products and services, we have created the largest, most active global ecosystem of 10,000+ companies, including 2,100 networks and 3,000+ cloud and IT service providers in 32 countries spanning six continents – and counting! A leadership role at Equinix means you will drive and collaborate on work that impacts the world. We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment. that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success. SummaryEquinix is looking for a highly effective Vice President to lead field operations for all data centres in the UK (15), the largest country in the EMEA region, and our largest market outside USA.The VP is responsible for supporting the growth and expansion in the region whilst enabling a people-first culture, where everyone feels they belong, matter and are safe and will also drive consistency and a streamlined approach across the UK and EMEA field operations.   Key Responsibilities Oversee day to day operations across the UKDrive strategic planning and priorities for UK data centre operations, in alignment with our next global and regional next generation platform strategyOversee the teams accountable for on-the-ground incident response, problem resolution, and change management communicating closely with key customers about resolution to support Equinix customer experience  Establish and track delivery against KPIs, SLAs, and metrics (incl. performance, capacity, availability, budget) Drive a customer-centric approach and consistency of response across all data centres in the country, ensuring they’re aligning with EMEA and global standards and contribute to centres of excellence where appropriateInstigate further alignment and collaboration with the matrix of EMEA cross-functional leaders (sales, customer care, Country MDs and President EMEA) and key customersLead the improvement of mission-critical business continuity plans, including design and implementation of disaster preparedness, detailed project management, and logistics coordination Operate as part of and actively contribute to the EMEA Operations leadership team to lead regional initiatives as part of Global Operations organisation.Collaborate closely with our Global Design and Construction teams in relation to multiple expansion projects in existing sites and the build of new data centres to support growth in the UK market.Lead a diverse teamCreate a high-performing leadership team with strength in depth and breadth who can in turn drive the strategic direction of the unit through actionable deliverableIn tandem with the extended global operations leadership and the corporate leadership team, enable an entrepreneurial, people-first culture promoting inclusivity and collaboration to empower and motivate teams with a shared vision and change story in line with our world-wide transformation agenda Empower frontline resources to meet customer needs through incentives and processesContribute to and/or support other departments to achieve endorsed business objectives Coordinate with global design and construction team to ensure global consistency and effectiveness Profile Required Demonstrable track record of leadership data centre operations management and maintenance or similar environments (e.g. mechanical & engineering, facilities, operations engineering, critical infrastructure) and leading a team of at least 300 people Excellent cross-functional management experience and in leading and operating in a matrixed environment Substantial experience in optimising a growing and evolving business such as leading a large organisation through a period of rapid growth, merger integration, or business transition Validated experience in driving a people-first, inclusive approach so as to instil the Equinix culture and values Strong focus on execution and results – establishing high standards for performance, setting goals, and developing plans, following through and holding people accountable for results Strong intellect (ideally with a university degree) with the ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and optimally communicate vision and influence Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals Financial acumen and ability to connect operational objectives to financial results Equinix is an equal opportunity employer.
