Quality Assurance Test Engineer

This is a remote position located in the United States or Canada.The Global Operations Excellence team is seeking a talented, resourceful, and self-motivated QA Engineer to help drive testing of quality applications for the Marketing, Sales, Customer Operations, Services, Supply Chain and Finance business groups. You’ll be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive test plans for strategic projects.Responsibilities and Duties:Work closely with project team to understand project goals, gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop repeatable testing practices.Clearly document issues and manage tickets in Jira.Help the team stay ahead of any blockers by identifying gaps in requirements and risks to user experience.Engage in thoughtful cross-functional collaboration to go beyond traditional QA expectations.Take ownership of features and projects from start to finish ensuring timely delivery of a high-quality product.Self-starter who can work independently and keep up with evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.Approach your responsibilities with a sense of urgency and strong work ethic.Detail oriented and take pride in thinking outside of the normal scope of work.Able to identify recurring issues to improve processes and stay ahead of known gaps.An advocate for end users with a desire to understand how members use the application.Develop and manage the Test Plan.Validate features are developed to design and meet business objectives.Perform Functional and Non-Functional testing.Identify, track, and communicate defects.Discuss fixes with developers and retest resolved issues.Develop Reporting on Testing progress and defects to project team.Assist with issue debugging and documentation.Maintain test documentation repository for future development.Qualifications:  Calix requires all employees based in North America who will work onsite at a Calix office, attend in-person meetings, and/or travel on behalf of Calix to be fully vaccinated. Calix will consider requests for reasonable accommodations as required under applicable law.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.7+ years’ experience conducting and supporting Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, Regression, User Acceptance Testing.3+ years’ experience coordinating and reporting on SIT and UAT.Excellent debugging skills, the ability to articulate defects with detail, and excellent verbal/written communication skills while working with local/remote teams to help understand issues.Possesses a high degree of user empathy and can provide feedback for improving user experience.Strong analytical skills and competency in exporting manipulating and importing data with excel and data loaders.Strong ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and solutions to broad audiences.Demonstrated ability to understand the needs and expectations of your users.Demonstrated problem solving and logical skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong and effective English skills required, both spoken and written.Oracle Cloud Fusion experience is highly desirable.Fluent in Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.Preferred Qualifications: Salesforce CRM, Oracle Fusion, Snowflake.Experience developing Quality Control systems.Location:Remote-based position located in the United States or Canada.#LI-Remote
