Engineering Platforms and Experiences (EPX) org deploys, operates and supports our cloud native technology platform that was designed from scratch for the cloud. We lead the complete stack and tools that delivers and supports Workday products across public clouds (e.g. AWS, GCP, etc.).The platform is built using Cloud Native technologies (CNCF), on a foundation of Kubernetes in Public Cloud environments. It provides a secure platform on which Workday service teams, and Platform development teams can build and test their pre-release code, through deployment to production on a continuous basis.About the RoleThe primary function of our team (Environment Lifecycle Automation) is to develop and enhance the workday stack deployment automation to meet the desired SLAs, reduce operational load and to scale sustainably in alignment with business growth. This role is about 70% operations and 30% programming.Be a key member of team of dedicated Software developers responsible for software engineering and operations, with an emphasis on reducing operational toil.Tech stack is Cloud Native (ArgoCD, GoLang, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana etc)Develop and launch effective SLIs to ensure that SLOs are achieved through building an extendable Observability architecture, runbook automation, and establishing new processes.Partner with platform service teams to craft and implement a range of standards for their respective services to meet. Define benchmarks and automation to qualify services to move to production environments.Automation and improvement is planned by following scrum practices with two week sprints.About YouYour passion for identifying and solving problems on distributed environments scaling across configuration, Linux Operating System and network. You have hands-on experience handling distributed environments (Kubernetes, Argo CD, Golang experience is a big plus). You have a keen interest in improving operational efficiency, and believe that automation is the key to operating large-scale systems. You are driven to ensure customer success.Basic QualificationsYou have 2+ years hands-on experience with creating and maintaining environment automation on cloud providers such as: AWS, GCP 2+ year experience creating and maintaining modular infrastructure and configuration as code systems such as: Terraform, or Ansible or Helm2+ years DevOps experience helping with enhancing production resiliency and product qualityOther QualificationsProficiency in an object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Golang, Groovy or Ruby.Extensive knowledge of k8s, Git, Docker, and Linux.Experience with continuous integration system, e.g. TeamCity or Bamboo or Jenkins.Experience with modern build tools such as Gradle, or Maven.AWS/GCP/Argo certification and proven track record of implementing solution in AWS/GCP.Infrastructure and configuration as code systems such as: Terraform, or Ansible or HelmExperience building monitoring tools for metrics and dashboard.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and three years+ industry experience or Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and two years of industry experienceAs a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law.
