Senior Software Engineer II at Sumo Logic (View all jobs) Redwood City, CA What you will be doing: Build the system that runs an elastic big data analytics platform that runs in the AWS cloud. Design and implement the extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems. Analyze and improve the efficiency and reliability of our backend systems. Write robust code and demonstrate its robustness through automated tests. Work as a member of a team, helping the team respond quickly and effectively to business needs. Development management over terabytes of data using the latest and greatest technologies such as Kafka, K8S, RDS, Redis, ElasticSearch and Cassandra. Telecommuting is permitted.   What we need from you Requirements : Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related IT field and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as a Software Engineer or in a related role. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience, will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related IT field and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related role. Experience with: Real-time streaming workflow over large amounts of data; Object-oriented programming using Java, Scala, or C++; Algorithms and performance characteristics of large distributed software systems; and, Distributed systems auto scale up/ right sizing of the infrastructure.   About Us Sumo Logic, Inc. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience.
