Tech stack: C++, Delphi, Windows programming (COM, WinApi, instrumentation of Windows desktop applications), GUI (DevExpress), JavaScript, Cloud experience (AWS or similar) is nice to have.   Product intro   All businesses today interact with their customers via an app, and the wide range of use cases and configurations available in the market today makes it extremely hard to deliver high-quality apps at speed. You can even have a free trial to check it out 😊   About the role As a Principal C++ Software Engineer , you will lead the design and implementation of complex software systems and tackle some of the most challenging problems in the software industry.   Lead the design and development of high-performance, reliable, and scalable C++ software components. Build new features and enhance existing ones for SmartBear's core products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX design, and QA, to develop and ship high-quality software. Lead architecture and design discussions, code reviews, and provide technical mentorship to team members. Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve the performance, scalability, and maintainability of our products. Work on complex problems with distributed systems, performance, and scalability challenges. Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Promote engineering excellence and best practices across the organization.    We are looking for you if you have: Expertise in C++ programming language and related technologies. 8+ years of experience developing backend solutions. Knowledge of Delphi (Even though we are moving away from it, it remains part of the source code). JavaScript and Python (required for some modules, familiarity is sufficient). Strong understating of Component Object Model (COM). Windows low-level knowledge (i.e., instrumentation of Windows desktop applications). Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns. Experience with large-scale distributed systems and performance optimizations. Experience with Windows Programming. Experience working with Agile development methodologies. Experience in CI/CD pipelines driving automation and quality, and building SDKs. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. BS/MS/D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. English language skills at least B2 level.   Nice to Have: Mobile and web development experience (TestComplete is a testing framework that supports both technologies, and the candidate should be able to understand them). Knowledge of web browser architecture. Familiarity with mobile Appium.
