We are rapidly combining many world-leading technologies and teams into the Fusion 360 family.The role is in the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. This team defines and builds the software platform which the Fusion 360 family of products is built upon. We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Principal Engineer to help us fulfil the mission of the organization, which is to drive developer productivity, increase automation opportunities, and enable cross platform device independence.ResponsibilitiesWork on making the changes to the Fusion 360 platform to separate core services from the UI layer and create a true server layer that can be deployed to the cloud (note that our code base is mostly written in C++)Optimize the start-up time of the server and enable authentication with our Identity serviceDrive developer productivity by adding to the Fusion 360 APIsDesign, implement, test and maintain these and other features for Fusion 360 based on stakeholder requirementsWrite technical design documents, participate in design and code reviews, develop estimates for tasks and document codeWork with an extended team of software developers, QAs and product designers in the US and other worldwide engineering sitesMentor junior engineers on the team and act as a technical lead in areas of your expertiseWork with DevOps to support production services in an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidentsMinimum Qualifications8+ years of professional C++ programming experienceCurrent knowledge of C++ standards and specificationsOutstanding programming, debugging and problem-solving skillsStrong Object-Oriented programming and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of data structures, algorithms, and STLSignificant experience with Authentication and Access ManagementAbility to work well in a team to deliver on team goalsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishPreferred QualificationsExperience with developing code for Fusion 360Experience with API and SDK developmentExperience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM)Experience with Docker and container orchestration systems (AWS ECS, DCOS, Kubernetes)Familiar with cross-platform application development using Visual Studio development environment on Windows and XCode on the MacOSExperience with Scrum methodologyPython scripting experienceAbility to learn large software systems quickly#LI-AC4At Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world.
