Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? In this position you will play a critical role in aligning the processes and tools used by various teams to produce a unified service experience for our customers. Hence the expectation is that you get familiar with the VMware processes during the first 30 days of your employment.This role requires deep VMware domain knowledge as you will be working on a project involving multiple VMware products. Within 60 days, you are expected to develop a solid understanding of the VMware domain and identify areas for improvement in our engineering practices. We seek an individual with a proven track record of quickly acquiring technical knowledge and a passion for continuous improvement.In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess solid project management skills to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of programs. The ideal candidate will have experience leading technical teams or technical projects, managing conflicts, and motivating team members to achieve their goals. We are expecting you to demonstrate your leadership skills from day 1 of your employment.As Program Manager, you will coordinate the end-to-end delivery flow of a project/program, managing all operational aspects from planning to final delivery. You'll ensure the Engineering Services organization aligns and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Strong project management skills and experience leading technical teams are required. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to deliver projects on time and with high quality. You will be expected to use your experience to identify and mitigate risks, and to manage stakeholders' expectations throughout the project lifecycleThe Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments: You will be expected to work with cross functional teams to identify gaps in a variety of ES processes and coming up with solution to improve engagement and acceptance by other teams.You will coordinate ES and cross functional teams discussions and commitments and ensure timely follow up of action items.You will be accountable for aligning the processes and tools used by various teams to produce a unified service experience for our customers.You will act as ambassador of the ES team and promote ES services and capabilities to engineering teams while in parallel gathering information about requirements from other teams which could lead to grater engagement and efficiency.Occasionally you will need to "get your hands dirty" and will need to write scripts or code to complement what we currently have.
