Search JobsJob DescriptionThe Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?As a manager within the VMware Carbon Black Solution Engineering Management team, you have a unique opportunity to inspire, grow and lead an incredibly talented team of presales Solutions Engineers. You will help develop and execute the local priorities and go-to-market strategy for VMware in an assigned territory and will be a critical pillar in the bridge between the technical solution and positive business outcomes for our customers and partners.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?The initial key to success will be:Leading your Solution Engineering team of generally up to 12 SEs.Understanding our vision and priorities as a company, for our partners, for our customers, within the security market, and for our business unit.Understanding your team’s strengths and areas of improvement and growth.Eliminating obstacles and removing roadblocks for your immediate team and the wider community.Proactively engaging with peers within Solution Engineering, partners, the core VMware sales organization, and our security sales leaders to establish common goals.Collaborate with sales management to co-develop plan for go-to-market priorities.And will grow to include include:Mentoring, coaching, and growing the team.Helping define, establish, and maintain the VMware Security culture.Grow adoption of VMware and our security solutions with customers and partners.Proactively engage in the wider Americas Solution Engineering Management team.Maintain and grow your professional network.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a Solution Engineering Manager, you will be engaged with both the Sales and SE teams to identify and qualify opportunities and to drive adoption and understanding of how VMware solutions drive positive customer outcomes.You will be the trusted leader for your SE team and will ensure that we maintain an environment where individual SEs can succeed and flourish.You will use your knowledge of your team and the market to help prioritize the skills needed, identify gaps, and develop plans for upskilling as needed.Additionally, you will be tightly connected to sales leadership and will co-own your joint territory success plans.What is the leadership like for this role?
