Major Areas of AccountabilityStrategic RequirementsDevelopment of strategic sourcing initiatives through the introduction of a competitive marketplace, demand management, supplier consolidation, and process re-engineeringDrive business outcomes by increasing both savings and valueCategory expertise to identify cost drivers/trends to create procurement strategies across the categoryManagement of competitive bid processes including RFPs, RFIs, RFQsLead negotiations of various types of supplier agreementsOwn the full strategic sourcing cycle, including supplier identification and selection, price negotiation, and contract "red-lining"Lead and drive the identification, planning and management of a pipeline of strategic sourcing projectsMarket research and benchmarking of suppliers and related service categoriesThink and act globally to lead and collaborate effectively on a cross-functional basisSupplier Management Develop and maintain supplier relationshipsArrange performance reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations to address issues and exploit opportunitiesPerform analysis of supplier spend data and process metrics to proactively recommend improvementsStakeholder Management Work with and across stakeholder groups to define needs and aggregate wherever possibleAct as liaison between the stakeholder and the supplier to determine the optimal approach to meeting validated business requirementsProvide input to stakeholders on budget development based on market/supplier pricingProvide continuous feedback to stakeholders and management regarding the status of projects and initiativesProvide education and guidance to stakeholders regarding the value of adopting and complying with purchasing policies, procedures, tools, and processesCollaborate with internal subject matter experts and engage them to actively participate in ongoing sourcing efforts.Enlists the support of leaders or experts who can enhance and reinforce the persuasiveness of one's own efforts.General/Projects Must have good knowledge of various sourcing practices and tools, and lead/support efforts to enhance the value of sourcing to the organizationPerform analysis of spend data and process metrics to proactively recommend improvementsExtend the reach of Sourcing by exercising appropriate influence within project teams, customer groups, and peer groupsCreate and lead project teams, or directly address specific sourcing issues, working with stakeholders and sourcing management to reach resolutionsEnsure sourcing guidelines are understood and adhered toEnsure all standards as defined by the Sourcing department are followed and enforcedKnowledge And Skills Requirements Knowledge of a wide range of professional and corporate services as well as other indirect categories and supply marketsExcellent business acumen, strategic, leadership and change management skills with proven experienceDemonstrated track record of high motivation and self-initiative through goals achievementOrganizational awareness, strategic planning, team-oriented, collaborativeKey competencies -- Strategic Planning and TeamworkExcellent business case and pricing analysis, negotiation and supplier management skillsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced knowledge of professional services categoryProven negotiation skillsExcellent project management skillsKnowledge of sourcing principlesExcellent relationship management skillsStrong skill in the use of Microsoft OfficePrevious Experience Requirements Minimum 5 years of Procurement experience, with at least 3 years as a Procurement Consultant, or Sourcing Manager or Category Manager in an established Procurement or Sourcing organization.Preferred: 7 or more years of experienceEducation Requirements Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experiencePreferred: MBAOrganizationThis position reports to the Director Global Sourcing in Philadelphia, PA USAThe Procurement organization is spread across the United States, Europe, Israel and India, and some flexibility of hours is required.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
