You will be a key leader on the Home team at eBay North America. It would be great if you also have a passion for and experience in the Furniture industry.The OpportunityThe role is to help define the Furniture category strategy and implement through working with sellers, buyers, industry experts, and brands to ensure that eBay has the inventory and end-to-end experience to grow the business. As a Category Manager, you will be accountable for the success of your category and encouraged to independently lead and manage multiple subcategories of the business.Key responsibilities:Drive category strategy to grow GMV, conversion rate, ASP/AOV, and Buyer & Seller CSAT. Leverage existing strategy work to build out a day-to-day go-to-market planBuild a business plan optimizing against pricing, promotions, and assortment goals, while improving discoverability and search ability through merchandising and marketingRecruit vital vendors/sellers to establish trust in the market and build out assortment strategy. Oversee performance and business planning for top sellers, buyers, and third-party partners, including new seller launch plansLead vertical, horizontal, and strategy execution as it relates to the Furniture categories and our customers by working cross-functionally with product, marketing, deals, pricing, and seller teams within eBayResponsible for leading communications across eBay regions including UK, DE, and other regions for the Furniture category to stay in synch on their latest initiativesDrive eBay onsite marketing and key event planning with cross functional teams, with a focus on important industry and retail moments. Clearly communicate objectives and requests in creative briefsDeliver strategies, reporting, and results weekly to the Category GM, while delivering regular executive read-outs and presentation updatesPreferred Qualifications:5+ years of proven experience with growing responsibility as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment. Merchandising or startup experience valuedExperienced at negotiating with third parties in sophisticated negotiationsDeep insight into eCommerce and the furniture industryAbility to lead with authority and effectively manage cross-functional coordination in a collaborative and team-driven environmentCollege degree required; Advanced degree preferredExperience in Furniture and/or relationships with key industry players preferred.Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
