This role is responsible for driving the People M&A lifecycle from project kickoff through due diligence, integration planning and execution. This role serves as a project lead on acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures of small and medium sized companies and a sub-leader on larger, more complex transactions.Success is contingent on your ability to balance high-level M&A strategy with strong project management execution skills and keen attention to details. This is a dynamic space with huge opportunity to continue your career journey and grow with eBay!ResponsibilitiesAs part of a corporate team, the Senior Manager, People M&A, is responsible for providing scalable, repeatable, and transferable processes and tools to further evolve eBay’s People M&A capabilities in line with deal volume and requirements. Responsibilities include developing and sustaining a robust People M&A program management structure (roles, responsibilities, processes, tools and accelerators) to drive deal success, minimize execution risks and drive efficiencies while also applying leading practices to identify opportunities to enhance and improve the current model.The Senior Manager, People M&A, is an individual contributor that leads all aspects of strategic and multi-functional efforts. The position is focused in three main areas aligned with eBay’s M&A approach 1. Project Kick-off 2. Due Diligence and Integration Planning 3. Integration Execution.Knowledge and skillsProject Management - successful track record of leading mid to large complex projects requiring coordination of work with all levels of management, consensus-building and problem resolution, and development and execution of sophisticated project plans. A willingness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.What you need to succeedBachelor or master’s degree in a relevant field plus 8 or more years of dynamic success in relevant and adjacent roles including but not limited to HR generalist/business partner, corporate/business development, human capital consulting, M&A generalist, project management etc.M&A project management experience3 or more years of deal experience from negotiations, pre-close through to long-term integration planning. Varied deal sizes and complexity from small to hundreds of employees across geographiesStrong business sense - extensive knowledge of the business, a clear understanding of market trends and competitionExecutive presence and ability to build working partnerships with executives within eBay and at acquisition target companiesKnowledge leader, with experience performing HR due diligence and integration of mergers and acquisitions, as well as program managementTechnical experience with deal terms, financial measures, and legal agreementsExperience handling critical employee experiences and communications with discretion and confidentialityTravel and Work HoursDomestic and international travel to target company locations is an expectation of the role (approximately 25%), as is flexibility in scheduling. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
