About the Team We’re seeking an exceptional Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Opendoor Accounting team! This person will work with our service providers and meet and exceed the needs of internal/external customers and team as our business rapidly grows in existing markets and scales to new markets. This role will be primarily focused on paying utility providers and homeowners associations. Role Responsibilities: Serve as primary accounts payable contact with utility companies, municipalities and operational stakeholders in your assigned region Investigate and resolve invoice processing exceptions with our third party BPO Communicate directly with utility service providers to address questions or billing issues Perform bill portal maintenance for larger accounts, including setting up auto draft accounts and removing homes sold when needed Investigate improvements with utility service providers such as account consolidation or auto draft options Recording and tracking manual payments Work with the team to identify opportunities and implement process improvements and automation Assist in reconciling auto draft payments to bank line detail Manage utility related inboxes in HelpScout, our email ticketing system Review HOA bills to validate the need for payment Track and follow up on high priority payments pertaining to homes Perform other duties as required to support Accounting department Skills Needed: 2+ years of relevant accounts payable experience Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Experience working in a fast growing business Strong communication skills; able to communicate concisely, accurately and professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.  Proficient in Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Google sheets, forms and docs Ability to multi-task and work in multiple systems Open to change and willing to learn new skills Ability to meet deadlines and work independently Bonus Points if: NetSuite experience Experience working with utility service providers  Experience working with homeowners associations Location: In-office roles require all role responsibilities to be performed in the office. Candidates must be based within a 50-mile commuting distance of the specified office location.  Compensation: In-office role in the US: The pay range for this position in Arizona is $52,000 - $71,500yr. Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
