If you want the energy of a startup with all the perks of a public company, you should consider this opportunity.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within your first 3 months, you can expect to:Get familiar with the product and its featuresRamp up on code base, architecture, and development methodologiesFix product bugs and deliver small features across the UIGain a basic understanding of the product domain and related VMware technologiesReceive mentoring and guidance from your teammatesWithin your first 6 months, you can expect to:Gain deeper understanding of the technical stack by delivering high quality codeCollaborate with various cross-functional teams (UX, PM, IX, ES) to develop and deliver delightful user experiencesReview code for your fellow UI engineers and collaborate on quality and process improvementsBecome an expert on one or more areas of the product and actively contribute to its improvementWithin your first 12 months, you can expect to:Lead new features and own one or more product areasWork alongside senior teammates in improving UI architecture, researching new technologies, and driving key team initiativesPartner with PM and UX team and join customer debugging and onboarding sessions to make them successfulContribute to end-to-end system architecture working together with cross-functional teamsPush the boundaries and tech stack of the UI code base by introducing new patterns and standardsHelp onboard and mentor new teammatesThe Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?A Senior Member of Technical Staff is both a strong individual contributor as well as a technical leader for other engineers, helping deliver features, improve product quality, and delivering a delightful product for our customers. In this role you will rely on and will further develop the following skills:Designing and implementing systems and features using JavaScript, React, Node, D3, Webpack and similar technologiesCollaboration, design, and validation on the API protocols used by the UIPerformance analysis and troubleshooting of multi-layer complex scenariosHelping teammates with thoughtful code reviews on their PRs in GitHubDrive quality improvements with unit and end-to-end automated testingApply expertise of UX best practices, HTML5, bootstrap and foundation CSS frameworks to simplifying and streamlining the UIWork within a large codebase to improve architecture and deliver new featuresWhat is the leadership like for this role?
