Sr. Cloud and Security ArchitectDescription -Leads the development of new Software Solutions and Services using Cloud Software development techniques. The Software Cloud Engineering team leads the design, build, and management of Cloud Systems and Infrastructure including Software, Services, and Solutions designed for flexibility, scalability, and resiliency to support current and future business needs in an automated, repeatable way.Responsibilities:Plays a critical role in building of various opinionated cloud environments and platforms while aligning them with business and security strategies and requirements.Leads the building of standards, designs, and automates the deployment of software in cloud environments.Design and develop solutions that protect and manage cloud native apps and data.Assists in the creation of technology strategy and engineering roadmaps around cloud platforms.Partners with DevOps to develop tooling and infrastructure for cloud development and cloud operations use cases, with a focus on microservices deployment and distributed systems monitoring and fault analysis.Evaluates new and emerging cloud and web technologies for incorporation into existing systems. Considers maturity of new technology and change management of existing cloud infrastructure to make the best recommendations. Knowledge & Skills:Demonstrated mastery with respect to distributed/cloud computing and knowledge in virtualization technologies, cloud infrastructure, cloud solutions, systems/microservice architecture, and design.Ability to apply theoretical concepts into cloud computing and/or enterprise application development.Industry leading expertise and insights on cloud technologies including but not limited to design, programming, and data structures.Expertise as it relates to knowledge of Software and Cloud design patterns and principles.Strong experience and preference for agile SW development methodologies, and a DevSecOps approach to code deployment and maintenance.Strong Cloud Computing Expertise: have a strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). They should also have knowledge of various cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security services.Understanding of Security Concepts: have an in-depth understanding of security concepts, such as encryption, network security, identity and access management, and compliance standards.(Desirable) Knowledge of Security Standards: be well-versed in various security standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2. They should also have experience implementing these standards within a cloud environment.Strong Communication Skills: have strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. They should also be able to collaborate effectively with other teams, such as DevOps and security teams, to implement security measures in a cloud environment.Cloud Infrastructure Design: be able to design cloud infrastructure that is scalable, reliable, and secure. They should have a solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, such as serverless computing, microservices, and containers.Cloud Deployment Automation: have experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager. They should also have experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, such as Jenkins or Travis CI.(Desirable) Risk Management: be able to assess security risks in a cloud environment and develop mitigation strategies. They should have experience with security risk assessments and security compliance audits.Security Monitoring and Incident Response: be able to implement security monitoring and incident response processes for a cloud environment. They should have experience with log analysis tools, such as ELK Stack or Splunk, and incident response tools, such as AWS GuardDuty or Azure Security Center.Knowledge of Cloud Service Providers' Security Offerings have a good understanding of the security features and services provided by various cloud service providers. They should be able to identify and evaluate security risks and mitigation strategies for a specific cloud environment.Compliance: be familiar with compliance standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI DSS, and should be able to ensure that the cloud environment is compliant with these standards.Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning: have experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for a cloud environment. They should be able to design and implement backup and recovery strategies, as well as failover and failback procedures.Experience with Multiple Cloud Platforms: have experience with multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. They should be able to evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud platforms for a specific use case.Programming and Scripting Skills: have strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, C#, or PowerShell. Scope & Impact:Viewed as a thought leader by peers across functions.Directly influences department strategy with respect to cloud engineering initiatives.Decisions significantly affect the quality, delivery, and success of department projects with impact of decisions lasting up to a year.Complexity:High: Extensive cross-functional/cross-organizational senior management interface; deals with complex strategic issues.Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence.
