Sierra Space is looking for a Quality Inspector capable of dimensionally inspecting high-tolerance spacecraft components using visual aids and/or dimensional inspection equipment. Experience and understanding of drawings, specifications, and GD&T, as well as verification of traceability and product verification is essential to be successful in this position. These individuals will need to be highly adaptive and able to respond to ever-changing priorities amongst multiple spacecraft and component programs. As a Quality Inspector II, you'll be using your skills and expertise to ensure that our incoming parts, in-process production, and shipped product fulfill all quality requirements. You'll be responsible for visually inspecting our materials, parts, and products at different stages of production, as well as recording observations and making recommendations for improving processes. You'll inspect for structural flaws, internal defects, or missing welds, and accept, reject, or request rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Learn more about Sierra Space Primary Responsibilities:Receiving and Production InspectionInspect and file/record incoming part history recordsPerform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawings and other specification requirementsRead and interpret specifications and part printsInitiate nonconformance reports (NCs) as requiredEnsure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment is up to date prior to conducting inspection operationsPerform product identification and traceability activities, as requiredWork with other company personnel to resolve inspection questionsCommunicate with project engineers to ensure compliance with the final product requirementsDocument information on the computer in various databases and other internal programsParticipates in in-process and final inspection as neededTrains collateral duty InspectorsPerform other miscellaneous duties as assigned Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
