Our team is building the next generation Communication platform to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time, to the channels that can get the most engagement value.About the RoleDo you enjoy working with interconnected systems, and as part of a larger team? This position offers the opportunity to drive the design, development, and operation of the messaging services and collaboration frameworks used by Workday Applications, implementation partners, and our customers. Our highly scalable collaboration platform primarily consists of backend services built using Java, Kotlin, and Workday frameworks. We work with engineering, product, and design peers to build our vision, design and implement features, and operate the platform. Our worldwide customers have high expectations of our platform’s quality and security, which we ensure through careful attention to our development and operations processes. We also have lots of fun while we work! In this role you’d often write and test product/system code, participate in and/or lead design reviews for technology decisions, triage product issues and resolve by analyzing the source of the issue and its impact, and review others’ code around methodology, testability, and efficiency.About YouYou are a technical leader with enthusiasm for team success. You have talent for creating usable, scalable, and well-tested software. You want to work in a highly collaborative, agile environment. You love learning new technologies, languages, tools, and frameworks. Finally, you take a break every now and then to have a little fun too.Basic Qualifications5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languagesExperience developing microservices and an understanding of design for quality, scalability, performance and reliability, and tradeoffs thereinBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experienceOther QualificationsFamiliarity with build and deployment processes and tools (Jenkins)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPassion for data driven decision making to aid team and product directionExperience owning and deploying production systems and have designed and delivered high efficiency microservicesFamiliarity with AWS platforms and tools would be a plusAre you being referred to one of our roles?
