You're looking for an opportunity to be part of an Identity and Access Management team that works with multiple parts of Information Security as well as other organizations to define, evaluate, and update policies, standards and solutions for enterprise and business use. The role provides an opportunity to have a direct contribution to increase VMware's security posture and our colleagues onboarding experience.What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? As a global enterprise with multinational offices, VMware maintains a close governance over employee access to reduce security risks and comply with local, regional, and country regulations by using an Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, part of VMware's Security & Resiliency organization is looking for a team player who will administer and develop capabilities of the IAM platform that manages full employee access lifecycle management (from birth right through access removal) and enables risk-driven access management.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within 30 days, familiarize yourself with the team, the governance processes, tools and overall vision and mission.Monitor and take ownership of tickets. Work closely with internal customers to resolve the ticket within the defined SLA.Participate in all IAM platform deployment activities, connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow configuration and development, and third-party system integration.Align and contribute to the vision of the team to support the applications onboarded into our IAM platform.Engineer solutions to ensure that IAM services perform according to defined processes, meet documented policies, and comply with Information Security and Business requirements.Drive continuous improvement of workflows, policies, procedures, and technology related to Access Management to enable risk reduction, business enablement and operational efficiencies.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?The IAM Platform Admin will spend a major part of their time supporting and maintaining applications in the IAM platform and will have ownership of their respective projects within the team.Utilize your knowledge on Information Security and Identity and Access Management concepts to implement and manage access life cycle management and adhere to the compliance requirements. Good understanding of Directories (Active Directory and Open LDAP), Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills.Technical skills like WEB services development (SOAP and REST/JSON) and database (SQL, MySQL)Collaborate in-person and through remote communication tools to effectively work with all stakeholders and customers to improve data and business processes and to negotiate priorities.3+ Experience working in any one of the Identity Governance Tools (Oracle OIM, Sail Point, Saviynt, One Identity). Extensive experience with Identity and Access Management technologies such as Saviynt is an advantage.Web Access Management (vIDM, Oracle Access Manager, ForgeRock).Identity Management (automated provisioning, de-provisioning, access recertification, etc.)Capable of working cooperatively across multiple teams working in a challenging, dynamic, and global environment.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The Hiring Manager for this role is Sr. Manager, IAM Platform, His expertise is driven by prioritizing and supporting the IAM Platform, Introducing and implementing new process and enhancement that focused on Platform stability. We are looking for a team player who can align with the vision of the team and contribute to the team's success. Everyone in the team is encouraged to pick and lead projects, thus enabling them to become SMEs. The core team is made up of around 30 engineers working in close partnership with members of Infosec, Engineering, HR, IT and Business. The team works flexible hours, arranging schedules to fit their needs and taking into consideration weekly phone calls with global colleagues, primarily in India and US.
