We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.) You need to have a good understanding of databases and should be able to write queries and analyze data.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Running and testing new applications and software
Executing all levels of QA tests that are System, Integration, and Regression
Involved in the design, development, and execution of functional and regression tests used to measure correctness, robustness, performance, and overall quality.
Provide all partners with appropriate regression reports in a timely manner.
Build a software test automation infrastructure and maintain it.
Expand our software testing and integration solutions to ensure quality product releases.
Effectively manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
Analyzing how systems are being tested manually and identifying opportunities to reduce that time and effort through Automation.
Designing and creating robust automated test scripts to address business and technical use cases.
Identify and investigate issues found during testing, and update test cases based on discovered defects.
Work closely with fellow software developers and QA team to resolve issues.
Continuously learn relevant new technologies to keep up with and apply them to the role
Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents
Able to perform API testing using Swagger UI
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of relational database and the ability to develop SQL statements to query our test databases is required.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
5-7 years of relevant experience in QA Tester, Software Tester, or similar role.
4 years experience with automation
4 years experience with Java
4 years experience of database testing (Postgres/SQL)
Strong understanding of Software Development methodologies like Agile, Quality Assurance, and documentation
Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of software programming languages
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Effective time management
Strong critical thinking
Ability to solve complex problems

Verana Health is committed to complying with all applicable pay transparency laws and supports equitable pay practices. We pay based on a market-based approach, supported with robust data and in alignment with the compensation of our existing team. We construct our compensation ranges based on the US national average but your pay may vary depending on your location and the cost of living index for that geographic area. In determining an offer, base salary will also be based on experience, qualifications, skills and market conditions.
P3 Level: US National Pay range: 100k-140k
