Role Summary
Execute ad hoc shipments consisting primarily of engineering and marketing vehicles. Administer the damage and claims process, vendor payments, test loads as well as other project related activities. Leverage data and analysis to drive carrier performance and reduce inefficiencies. The ideal candidate is relentless in execution and follow-up with a customer service mindset. Perseverance will be needed to overcome operational challenges and to set a course for cost optimization. A collaborative spirit is essential to partner with stakeholders, and to foster teamwork within the department.
Responsibilities
Execute ad hoc vehicle shipments, i.e. engineering and marketing vehicles, using modes of truck, rail and ocean, and drive carrier performance to ensure timely delivery
Provide a customer-oriented approach to support internal stakeholders
Liaise with Purchasing and IT to onboard new carriers
Administer and rollout damage & claims process
Coordinate vehicle test loads and use of securement methods
Execute purchase orders and resolve payment exceptions
Leverage data to identify exceptions, waste and trends, and work across teams to develop, implement and measure corrective actions across all areas of Outbound Logistics
Identify, develop, document and roll out logistics processes as needed
Remain flexible in the scope of work that is required
Act as back up and support for other roles within the Outbound Logistics team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Hands-on experience working with SAP, Transportation Management System (TMS), and/or yard management systems is preferred
Advanced user in MS Excel – ability to create pivot table and charts, use of short cuts, and VLOOKUP functionality
Six Sigma experience and understanding preferred
Comfortable using process mapping tools
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
